Jody Hawk

"I never achieved great fame-- no heights of incredible glory.  But I think any strong endeavor that gives you a sense of joy is the greatest thing in life."  Sono Osato

Jody Hawk uses photography and film in her artwork.  She has made work with traditional photography and photography and video installations.  Jody is excited to be a member of the Akron artist's community while she is a visiting artist at the University of Akron, (teaching photography).  She has exhibited her work nationally and has just joined Raw Umber so that art can be shared in order to inspire and motivate the local community.  Her work can be seen at

Provisional Territory

My project needs your participation!  At the website http://jodyhawk.com you can see the work I was making while living in Boston, MA.  In these photographs I am seeking hand built structures.  The structures I found were mostly in areas where a strip of land is left untouched between areas of houses or infastructure.  I am interested in the places you might know.  I am offering a small print of the object in return for sharing the information.  While many of the photographs I have seem to be in nature, they are usually not deep in the woods as they seem.  I am willing to travel.  I am posting the new images at Provisional Territory on the Ning Social Network.
